Transact Conference Report 2010

The 2010 Transact conference provided the opportunity for stakeholders from across the Financial Inclusion sector to reflect and share their views, learn about the wider sector and engage in important dialogue about the future of the sector against the back-drop of a prospective new political landscape.

The day included workshops on topics such as funding and online platforms to support financial inclusion and a lively debate on the future of financial service. The afternoon also featured a dynamic 'open-space' session which gave delegates the chance to share their opnions on the question of 'What should the next government do about financial exclusion?'

Developing Inclusive Banking 2009

This document brings together the work of the Banking Partnership Group which was facilitated by Toynbee Hall in 2008 and 2009. The group which brought together representatives from banking, government and the third sector explored how to recognise and reduce potential barriers to customers accessing appropriate bank accounts.  The document provides 'guidelines' for banks who want to improve access to their products for vulnerable consumers. 

Waiting for Change 2009

Transact carried out research exploring links between cash-in-hand work and financial inclusion. The project took a narrow focus on restaurant workers in the Brick Lane area. Click here for the latest news on the project or to download the report.

Transact Member Survey 2008

Transact surveyed its members to gather information on what the most important financial exclusion issues were for our members and those who they work with, the impact of the credit crunch and challenges our members face in running their organisations. Click here for a copy of the findings

Making the Link: Engaging Social Landlords in Financial Inclusion (Transact, 2008)

This brochure is intended to reduce the disparity in the range of services accessible to social tenants by improving the continuity and consistency of initiatives. It makes the social, business and organisational cases for social landlords to get involved and highlights where progress can be made.

It also suggests practical ways in which social landlords can work with others to make the link between their tenants and financial inclusion. Click here to download the brochure.
