Current Consultations

As key stakeholders in the financial inclusion sector Transact believes it is vital that our members views are taken into account on issues of policy and regulation that affect people facing financial exclusion. Whilst consulation responses can be time-consuming and in depth, we would also encourage shorter responses from organisations who have a specific expertise to share. Where possible Transact will facilitate responses from members, and will liaise with members as appropriate.

The Scope Money Matters Survey 

Scope is conducting a survey to explore the experiences which disabled people and their families have had of financial services and products. Using this feedback the charity will aim to influence financial information, advice and services for the better. 

The survey is open until March 15th 2010.

Orders for Sale consultation

The Ministry of Justice has opened a consultation into whether a minimum threshold of debt should exist before a court can order the sale of a debtor's home to repay creditors.

The Ministry of Justice welcomes responses from all civil court users.

Consumer Contracts Market Survey 

The OFT is undertaking a market survey to examine when, how and why consumers may have difficulties with contracts. The survey intends to look at how well consumers understand typical contracts and how this varies when contracts are, for example, presented online, over the phone, or during a face-to-face sales pitch. This market survey may be of particular interest to those working with people with literacy difficulties or elderly consumers. 

They will be contacting key stakeholders directly but anybody is welcome to submit their own comment via www.oft.gov.uk/consumer-contracts or via email

The market survey will last until Winter 2010
